We’ve got some rather lovely Christmas news to share.
Our G&J Xmas Feast has been named Highly Commended in the Best Premium Cheese Selection category at the woman&home Christmas Food Awards 2026.
And, even better, the judges said it “really stood out from the crowd.”
Considering the team at woman&home reviewed hundreds of products for this year’s Christmas Food Awards, we’re feeling pretty chuffed about that.
A Christmas cheeseboard chosen by cheesemongers
The G&J Xmas Feast is our biggest and most generous Christmas cheese selection.
We created it for proper festive feasting: Christmas Day, Boxing Day grazing, family gatherings and those slightly hazy days between Christmas and New Year when putting the cheeseboard back on the table feels like an entirely reasonable meal.
The aim was simple: put together six exceptional British artisan cheeses that each bring something different to the board, but work brilliantly together.
This year’s selection includes:
Baron Bigod – a rich, buttery Brie-style cheese made in Suffolk.
Colston Bassett Stilton – one of the great traditional British blues and, for us, an essential part of Christmas.
Quicke’s Mature Cheddar – clothbound, savoury and deeply flavoured.
Kirkham’s Lancashire – buttery and crumbly with bags of farmhouse character.
Little Rollright – a rich, gooey, spruce-wrapped washed rind cheese.
Dorstone – an elegant ash-coated goat’s cheese with fresh, bright citrus notes.
Together, they give you a cheeseboard with a proper range of flavours, textures and styles rather than simply six good cheeses thrown into a box.
Why the award means something to us
We spend a lot of time choosing our Christmas selections.
It’s not just about picking famous cheeses or filling a box. We taste, compare and think about how everything works together so that, when you put the whole selection on the table, there’s something for everyone and a natural progression around the board.
So having the Xmas Feast recognised by the woman&home Christmas Food Awards is a lovely endorsement of what we’re trying to do.
We’re an independent cheesemonger in Leeds, and championing brilliant artisan cheese has been at the heart of George & Joseph since we opened. Seeing one of our own selections recognised nationally makes us particularly proud.
Build your Christmas cheeseboard
The G&J Xmas Feast weighs approximately 1.3kg–1.5kg and is designed to serve around 10–12 people.
It’s ideal if you’re hosting Christmas, feeding a houseful over the festive period or simply want to make sure the cheese is one of the highlights of Christmas rather than an afterthought.
The G&J Xmas Feast is available to pre-order now for Christmas, alongside our other Christmas cheese selections, crackers, chutneys and festive accompaniments.
Christmas pre-orders close at midnight on Sunday 13th December.
Our final DPD dispatch is Monday 21st December, while local delivery and click & collect will continue up to and including Christmas Eve.
